National Science Day
National Science Day 2018
We celebrated National Science Day on 28th February 2018 at our college GVM's Dr. Dada Vaidya College of Education, Farmagudi Ponda Goa.
I was selected as a leader for this program by our science mentor Dr. Anna Neena George.
The theme for the science day we had kept was ;
"SCIENCE: WONDERMENT AND PROWESS"
The Chief guest for the programm was Dr. Anil Dinge; Ex-principal of PES college Ponda Goa. The programm began with the inauguration of science mela which consists of various interesting demonstration experiments, models, two mini-theatres screening space and marine videos.
The formal function started with the welcoming of the dignitaries followed by welcome song. Presentation on Sir C.V. Raman and his life history, why science day is celebrated and its significance. Next, a presentation on Scifun was given in the form of beautiful video.
There was an event organized for the students from other method to present how their methods such as languages, history and geography is related to science.Teachers were also given an opportunity to give just one minute talk on some interesting science topics. There was also beautiful dance presented by the some science students to grace the programm.
I had presented a demonstration of pollen germination of vinca rosea flower for the science mela. It was a great experience.....

NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY

There was an event organized for the students from other method to present how their methods such as languages, history and geography is related to science.Teachers were also given an opportunity to give just one minute talk on some interesting science topics. There was also beautiful dance presented by the some science students to grace the programm.
I had presented a demonstration of pollen germination of vinca rosea flower for the science mela. It was a great experience.....

Theme: EXPLORING SCIENCE
The National Science day was celebrated on 28th February 2019 in our college. The chief guest for the programme was Dr. Uday Gaonkar, Deputy Director of Education, South district. The programme was also graced by our Principal, Dr. Allan Abreo, Mr.Bhaskar Khandeparkar, the president of GVM's General Body and Mr. Deepak Gaonkar, the Secretary of GVM's General Body. The programme started with the inauguration of Science mela followed by the formal programme.
Science mela was the main highlight of the programme.The programme also had various other sections i.e. space arena, science quiz and sound scapes, green shelves and scifun corner.
In science mela there was 9 physics, 8 chemistry and 3 biology experiments. The green shelves had 35 different NASA approved plants- 13 air purifier plants and 22 medicinal plants . The scifun corner had 7 different experiments.
For science mela, I performed the Magic fire experiment. The students from Vividha Higher Secondary School were brought to explore this world of science.
The students of other methods had performed acts, poem recitation, songs depicting the correlation with science subject during the formal programme.
The Science programme was a huge success due to the efforts and hardwork of rhe first and second year science students under the guidance of Dr. Anna Neena George.
